Ingredients

  • For The Loaf:

    • 125g all-purpose flour

    • 1 tsp baking powder

    • Pinch of salt

    • 100g granulated sugar

    • 2 large eggs

    • 60ml vegetable oil

    • 60ml orange juice (freshly squeezed)

    • 1 tbsp orange zest

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    For The Drizzle:

    • 50g powdered sugar

    • 1–2 tbsp orange juice (adjust for desired consistency)

Preparation

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line a small loaf pan (about 18×9 cm).

Step 2: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3: In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 4: Add oil, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

Step 5: Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined — do not overmix.

Step 6: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Step 7: Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 8: While the loaf is still warm, mix powdered sugar and orange juice to make the glaze.

Step 9: Drizzle the glaze over the loaf and let it soak in as the cake cools.
